¡Hola¡ My name is Señora Connelly. I am so excited to be teaching Spanish full-time at Rock Ridge Elementary School this year! The students will get the opportunity to learn Spanish vocabulary and simple phrases. In addition, we will focus on the similarities and differences between cultures around the world.

I was born in Havana, Cuba and moved to Southern California when I was two years old. I received my teaching degree from Cal Poly, Pomona, my Masters in Bilingual Education from SUNY Brockport and my Special Education certification from National University. I have been a teacher for over thirty years and have taught in  Southern California, upstate New York and now Colorado.  My teaching experiences include bilingual first grade and kindergarten, special education resource teacher, reading specialist and now Spanish teacher.

I moved to Castle Rock, Colorado ten years ago with my husband and two sons.  My sons both graduated from the Douglas County School District. My older son went on to graduate from CSU and my younger son is currently a senior at Colorado School of Mines. I enjoy spending time with family and friends hiking, skiing, traveling, and exploring new places.

I feel fortunate to be able to be doing something I feel passionate about. I love teaching young minds and inspiring them to learn, explore and inquire about the world around them.
